I have a large variety of experience working with children of all ages! I have worked as a Montessori assistant preschool teacher, a Special Education Elementary teacher, and a Child Development specialist for children ages 0-3. Through my experience and education, I have built extensive knowledge on alternative educational styles, child development, early intervention, and social/emotional learning. As a caregiver/educator I am calm, patient, and responsive. I always lead with empathy and open communication, while setting age-appropriate boundaries when necessary. I respect children's individual needs and aim to meet each child on their own level. I value self-directed projects, hands on education, process art, and open play. I am recently trained in Child & Infant CPR. I will be moving from Kansas City to Chicago August 2024 to attend SAIC's Art Therapy and Counseling graduate program. I am looking for part time work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and on the weekends.

I highly recommend Maya as a babysitter! She has cared for our 2-year-old for about 9 months before he started preschool. Maya is responsible, always punctual, and engaged our child with fun, creative art activities and lots of story time. Our little one adores her, and we miss her dearly!!
