About Matéo

I have 5 years of professional experience with the care and supervision of children of all ages, and many more years of casual experience with babysitting. I've been a PreK Special Ed Teacher for a year (NYS relaxed the education requirements due to high demand for teachers); I love my job and am very dedicated to my kids, and I'm only leaving to pursue college full-time. I will return to teaching in a few years, as soon as I am fully certified. I'm on the Special Ed & Literacy II Master's track at UAlbany, which leads to 3 different teaching certifications. I have also been a youth clubhouse assistant, summer camp counselor, after school peer tutor, & youth theater PA. I believe children are capable of great things with the right supports, and we often underestimate them. I'm passionate about literacy, anti-racism, self-regulation/emotional intelligence, fostering creativity, and fun. I love to figure out what kids individual needs are - there is always a way to accommodate!
