My experience with childcare started as a teenager, with the usual weekend babysitting duties. It progressed into a love for taking care of children, making them laugh, and helping them grow. I started my first, official nanny job in the summer of 2006 with a 9-month-old boy. Once they moved, I moved onto a lovely family with a 3-month-old daughter that I stayed with for over two years. I've had a few other jobs between (including children between the ages of two through 12), my latest with three children from 2-8. I sincerely enjoy working with all kinds of children as they bring so much joy to life. I currently work a M-F job, but I am looking to occasionally babysit on the weekends.

Mary has a calm, gentle way about her that is such an influential presence on our family. She approaches everything (even those seemingly endless crying fits) with ultimate patience and expression of love and understanding. She is reliable and punctual, and I trust her completely in my home, with my car and, of course, with my son. She has been working for us full-time, M-F. She gave me the gift of knowing my son was lovingly cared for while I was working, which allowed me to transition back more easily. I can't put enough of a value on that. I will miss having her in our home for all of these reasons, plus the fact that she has turned into a wonderful friend to have around. I encourage any family, especially one with a baby, to consider Mary. She may seem shy at first, but please remember what I've outlined here. She is a gem and you'd be lucky to have her, as we have been.
