About Mary

Hello! My name is Mary. I am a mom to a 3-year-old boy and a substitute teacher in west Michigan. I have a Masters in Public Health, a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a Bachelor of Science in Neurology. I have been babysitting for almost 20 years, ages new born to teens. I was a stay at home mom to my own son for 3 years where I focused on learning through play, applying Montessori methods, and made sure to spend a lot of time exploring outdoors. Throughout high school and college I worked for an overnight, rustic summer young camp in the Shawnee National Forest that serviced 2, 000+ children every summer, and I was on the leadership staff for my last 2 years. I also hold my Michigan Substitute Teacher license, with experience in teaching kindergarten-grade 12, which require me to keep fingerprints and background checks up to date with the state. I swam Division 1 in college, and still like to stay active at the gym, run marathons, and walk on the with my dogs, Lucy and Lilly!
