Dear Family Member, I chose this profession as it gives me joy to work in the medical field caring for others. I worked for a cardiologist for 16 years as his cardiac technician, LPN until his retirement 2007. In 2008, I worked as a live in for a woman with Alzheimers, the last phase of her life, I worked side by side with hospice staff implementing quality of life until her passing in 2014. In 2015, through 2018, I worked respite care to relieve fellow home health aids of their duties to have relief from their shifts. Thereafter in 2018 through 2020, I transitioned into my second live-in position as caregiver for a male patient. Post pandemic, end of 2021 through the end of 2023, I worked temporarily non live-in as a companion caregiver for a fall risk, diabetic. Maryjo took excellent care of my mom! She is very skilled and thoughtful. She often went above and beyond her basic responsibilities. We had to say goodbye because she was moving and mom was in need of a nursing home.
