I started with my work at Harrington Hospital from 1991-1994 working on an orthopedic floor, where many of the patients were seniors or struggling with dementia, post stroke. I have since worked on private duty cases which I enjoyed immensely. I love working with the elderly. They have so much to tell you and so much to offer. It is unfortunate that they are often neglected or overlooked. My most recent private duty case was with an elderly couple. One suffered from post stroke, the other suffers from Alzheimer's disease. working with the elderly makes me feel positive about myself and rewarded to have had them in my life.
