My dog died shortly after I began new employment and because of this, a coworker needed a pet-sitter and asked if I was interested. I agreed and stayed at their home to watch the dog. It snowballed after that through a verbal network to the point that people scheduled their vacations around my availability. They knew I didn't just feed and water their pet, but walked and played with them while taking care of their homes. This was while also working a full-time job. My availability is a bit unique as my hours are flexible. I can work at the office or at home with permission to use your Wi-Fi. Sometimes I work in the field in the evening, but take care of the pet before going to my event or upon arrival in the evening. I also take care of the homes by cleaning them and getting the mail. I have always stayed in the owners' homes because it's easier for the pet. Unless you have a set and preferred rate, I usually charge by the day. I have been watching peoples' pets for about 25 years.
