About Mary

I am a State of North Carolina Certified Activities Coordinator with extensive experience in recreational programming. As Program Services Director at an assisted living community, my primary responsibilities were the coordination, development and implementation of daily activities focusing on the arts and healthful living for senior residents. The population I worked with presented varying levels of capability with respect to their cognitive and physical abilities. Upon assessment, I was successful in reaching the majority of residents by tailoring my programs to match their interests and individual abilities through the use of adaptive tools and materials. As a result, attendance at daily activities doubled and instances of social isolation and irritability decreased.
