Hello! My name is Mary and I'm an experienced Orton-Gillingham trained reading tutor, special education teacher, and executive functioning coach. My experience ranges from Kindergarten to 10th grade, specifically working with students who have learning differences. I specialize in multi-sensory reading instruction, writing, and executive functioning coaching which includes the development of planning, prioritizing, and study skills. All tutoring services are provided online.

Mary tutors my 8 year old and 6 year old in English Language Arts and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Not only is Mary fantastic at teaching reading and writing to my reluctant reader and my reluctant writer, my kids love working with her and they look forward to their sessions all week. I also really look forward to the sessions because Mary takes the time to give me a status update each week and tell me how I can support the kids as their reading progresses. I really value Mary's judgment generally, so I'm eager to get her opinion on any educational issue that comes up for my kids. Mary is also particularly skillful with technology. Her website makes it very easy to book appointments and it sends my calendar reminders. We started tutoring during the COVID pandemic, and more than any other tutor we've worked with, Mary is very skilled with the using all the features of zoom to make it almost like she's sitting next to the kids. Mary is wonderful.
