About Mary

I teach elementary-aged students with special needs. We work on basic skills in the areas of reading, writing, spelling, and math. These skills would be typical of a 1st-2nd grade curriculum. I will be able to assess your student in reading, writing, spelling, and math so that we can target the specific areas of need your child may have. I will also assess them as time goes on so as to track their progress. It is important to me that the learning process does not feel like a chore, and that the student does not feel pressure to succeed. One of the most important lessons your student will learn from me is how to have a growth mindset. I am passionate about literacy and believe that one-on-one learning is one of the best ways to ensure that your child is a successful reader.
