About Mary

I worked as a Music Director in larger churches with children in preschool through senior adults, so I'm comfortable with all ages! "Retired" might be my actual title but I'm in the market for flexible care or tutoring that allows me to continue my active lifestyle of marathon walking, weight training, hiking and biking as well as travel. On a part-time basis, I approve dissertation submissions prior to graduation at Asbury Seminary (online), so I write and know good writing as well as grammar and research. I have especially enjoyed tutoring as a reader for young children and seeing the epiphany as they sound out words and put sentences together -- it's a really cool thing to see them grasp reading for themselves! Working with older adults is in my wheelhouse from my career as well as family members as they aged (my Mom had dementia) and even did a stint as an aid in a nursing home doing personal care so there is not a whole lot that scares me!
