Hi my name is Mary. I am 50 years old. I love caring for the elderly starting with my great grandmother when I was 12 years old. My cousins would be outside playing and I would be inside sweeping, listening and laughing. I started being a caregiver in 2005 working with a home care company. I later started doing private care. I moved to Aiken in 2016 and I have worked both with a company and privately. I am patient, loving and I helping. I do light meals, dress, bath, laundry, errands, medication reminders, etc. I look forward to being that person to work with the families so things don't seem so overwhelming. Mary came to us a year ago and changed our lives. My Mom had multiple issues: Right arm paralyzed, wheelchair bound, incontinence issues, Alzheimer's/dementia, ocd tendencies. Mom was so out-of-it when I hired Mary, my hope was lost. Mary gave me my Mom back! Mom's physical therapist said that Mary is the one responsible for Mom making such a turnaround in improvements. Mary's proactive in making suggestions and implementing ways to improve Mom's quality of life. Mary has the perfect temperament: she's devoted, patient, loving, caring, and completely invested in Mom's well being. She's gentle and kind when making suggestions. Mary made sure Mom did her PT exercises, took her outside to enjoy the day and go for walks. Encouraging Mom's self esteem every day, Mary made sure Mom was dressed well, including earring and jewelry. The staff and I trust her completely and counted on her to always know what's best for Mom. Mary has an excellent reputation and it is well deserved.
