About Mary

I am interested in the tutoring position. I am a highly-qualified educator in Elementary K-8, Special education K-12, Reading, Science, Deaf and Hard of Hearing. When working with a student, I guide and discover with the child as a person, how they learn, the way they learn, and how that relates to their whole world! At that moment of wonder and joy of understanding and acknowledgment of being understood is extremely rewarding. I encourage them to push beyond what is easy and help them become aware of the learning strategies, which work for them. When planning and implementing instruction, I integrated different disciplines and their interests in a meaningful way to encourage that everything is connected, which enhances transferring knowledge that develops a successful problem solver. I am a life long learner. In 2008, I completed 6 master level credits in Literacy Lessons, a special model of Reading Recovery. Technology (Computer and Adaptive) is a huge part of my academic support.
