About Mary

I have 5 yrs experience, 4 of them paid (through a home care agency). My mother moved in with us and I took round the clock care of her. I not only understand the finer points of care, but also what a relief it can be to know someone is taking excellent care of your loved one in your absence. I gained experience with multiple conditions that she had to contend with: strokes, dementia, diabetes, a heart condition & cancer. After taking care of her for a year, I signed on with a home care agency for next 4 years, so that I would receive a salary & training. It was truly the hardest job I've ever had, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I learned so much, but most importantly I was able to ensure my mom received comprehensive care, warm and loving companionship, interaction & engagement.
