Griselda cared for our two young children from December 2017 to January 2022. Our children blossomed under her care, and we wholeheartedly recommend her to a new family. Griselda was the first and only nanny we interviewed. Right away, we had a good feeling about her. She was prompt, organized, warm and kind, full of energy, and had an upbeat positive attitude. We asked her to start a one week trial, and by the end of the first day, we were sure she was the right person to care for our daughter, who was only 5 months at the time. She saw our daughter through many stages, guiding her through the baby, toddler, and preschool years. When we learned we would be expecting a second child, we immediately asked her if she would stay on to care for both kids, and were thrilled when she said yes. After four years with our family, our children had such a close bond with Griselda; as just one example, every morning, when they heard the door open at 7:30, they literally jumped up and down in excitement to see her! Here are some of the many wonderful things we have loved about Griselda these last few years: Griselda is incredibly warm and loving with our kids, but never a pushover. She is gentle and calm, but firm with them, and instills the proper discipline. She has so much patience (more than we do!) and I’ve never once heard her raise her voice, or display any frustration with them. Griselda is one of the most meticulous, clean, and organized people we’ve ever met. After she prepares breakfast and lunch for the kids, the kitchen is always spotless. She folds laundry and organizes their clothes like a professional; as much as we try, we’ve never been able to do this as well as she does. We both have demanding jobs, and knowing we could depend on Griselda made our work lives easier and less stressful. She has always been prompt, reliable, and would communicate with us effectively if the bus was running late or she was not feeling well. We encouraged her to teach our children Spanish, and were amazed at how much they learned from her. Many of their first words were in Spanish: “agua,” “leche,” “aguacate,” “gracias,” “basura” and more. We often would overhear them talking in the house (Griselda is wonderful about constantly talking to and engaging with them), and were blown away by how much Spanish they understood. Griselda is very active, and made sure to take the kids outside as much as possible, which we’ve always appreciated. Most mornings, they are out at the park, walking around the neighborhood, and playing outside from 9:00am to their naptime at 1:00pm. With Griselda, they get plenty of fresh air and exercise. Griselda also connected with many of the other nannies in the neighborhood, which gave our kids opportunities to meet and socialize with their peers. She also recommended many activities to us—Gymboree music classes, art classes, free play time at the local park and rec center—when she felt the kids were ready for more stimulation and interaction with other children. Griselda is a mother herself, and we truly believe she cared for our children as if they were her own. She nurtured their interests and taught them independence. On their birthdays, she took it upon herself to organize parties in the park with their friends, bringing a pinata, ordering pizza and cupcakes, and making sure they had a special day. Any family would be lucky to hire Griselda!
