Hi there! My name is Marissa and I absolutely LOVE working with children! I have over 10 years of experience in working with and caring for children during their early childhood and elementary years, including experience in applied behavioral analysis. I am CPR and First Aid Certified (including child and infant). My experience ranges from children aged 3 months to 9 years old. The teacher in me loves to imagine and bring many experiences, whether that's a book, craft, activity, song, game, or piece of art. I believe that childhood should be a time to explore and grow and I am skilled in creating developmentally appropriate played-based experiences. I strive to make our time together meaningful and FUN. I also think holding space for teaching responsibility is important, so we always clean up after ourselves and tidy up toys at the end of play. I hold a Masters in Early Childhood Education and am a certified LA teacher. I am happy to send my resume and references upon request.

We hired Marissa to be our nanny since our daughter was 12 weeks old when I had to return to work. She made the transition back to work easy, always punctual, extremely dependable and most importantly had meaningful interactions with our daughter. I'm convinced that she loves reading books and started to do everything early because Marissa took the time to work on age appropriate exercises in order to meet her developmental milestones. She logged a daily list of activities she did with our daughter. Unfortunately, I had to return to work (in another state) so she ended her term as our nanny in late August. I even considered quitting my job and staying in New Orleans because Marissa was so good with our daughter. We do return to New Orleans occasionally and Marissa has helped us out when she's available. I highly recommend her and she definitely set the bar extremely high when we had to search for a new nanny.
