About Marissa

I have my teaching degree in Early Childhood and Special Education, which has given me the knowledge needed to tutor. I have tutored several families weekly for years. I have worked with students as young as kindergarten, up through fifth grade. I assess the child to find out what they are struggling with and work with both parents and the child to figure out what the student needs help with most. I plan lessons and bring activities for the student if that is what the parent is looking for; however, I often provide homework help as well. I also collaborate with parents to keep up to date on school curriculum so I can practice those skills with the student. I like to incorporate some fun and games into my lessons to keep the child engaged!
