Hello parents! My name is Marissa and I am an experienced, creative, energetic, nurturing, responsible caregiver with a passion for working with children, especially the little ones! Children are full of natural curiosity and I firmly believe that it is the responsibility of a caregiver not only to protect and provide basic care but also to encourage a child to actively explore and make sense of the world around them. That said, I am a big proponent of regular trips to the playground, the park, the library, the beach or any other place where new adventures can be found! I am a natural teacher and love to read and sing as well. I am additionally a licensed social worker and currently in grad school for my MSW, graduating in December but can give about a year long commitment, give or take. If interested, I'd love to chat! Marissa was a dream come true for our family. She was with us for about 18 months, and we would have tried to keep her in our lives forever had we not moved to New York. She has a true understanding of child development, and our two little boys are already happy, curious, kind people because of the way she helped us raise them. Leaving our children with her was like leaving them with a friend, family member, and teacher all wrapped into one. She kept our very energetic boys busy with outings, activities, crafts, etc. Marissa is communicative and knowledgeable, which was great for me as a first time mom. She assisted during my second maternity leave as well, and I felt so much more comfortable leaving my 3 month old when I (unfortunately) had to return to work knowing that he was in her very capable, caring hands! We could not recommend her more!
