About Marissa

I'd describe my personality as creative with lots of new ideas for playtime and storytelling, reliable to ensure a trustworthy relationship can be built between myself and the family, and empathetic to be able to work with the child in a caring and gentle way. I started working with kids 7 years ago when my nephew was born. With his mother working and in school I often baby sat him as an infant and toddler and now continue to take care of him as a 7-year-old when needed. My top 3 child care skills are the ability to communicate effectively with both the child and the parent(s), remain patient and calm during stressful moments or outbursts, and act with compassion and enthusiasm to ensure the child feels cared for and is able to enjoy and not stress over time apart from guardians.
