About Marisa

My name is Marisa and I am a proud Mommy of 11-year-old triplets. Currently, I am a Social Support Specialist at Elementary School in Lafayette. I have a Master's degree in Human Services with 25 plus years working with adolescents and youth. I believe it's very important for children to continue their studies during longer school breaks to help with preventing regression and to feel confident during the school year. I love tutoring because my job is to help a learner achieve their academic goals and guide them through their struggles. It truly is rewarding when you physically get to see how your efforts helped improve. As a tutor my ultimate goal is to help the student become an independent learner. I am very patient and flexible by willing to adjust techniques and approaches to meet the learning styles of the student.
