Hello families, my name is Marie & I'm a 13 year NYC Special Education Veteran Teacher. I'm also a proud momma of two little ones; one of whom has special needs How I'd help your child: - First, I'd identify how your child learns best & what they enjoy-planning sessions using their interests. - Instruction catered to your child's specific needs (using graphic organizers, specific accommodations, etc.) - Feedback and recommendations to parents/caregivers to help with follow through at home. Positive reinforcement, organization skills, TLC and encouragement. Focus on ELA skills (but not limited to): READING:Analyzing a text, Note-taking skills, Identifying literary elements, Vocabulary/context clues, Identifying textual evidence/explanation of evidence WRITING:Deconstructing questions/writing prompts, formulating coherent paragraphs, elaboration on thoughts & ideas Planning, proofreading & editing
