I am a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant with 15+ years of experience caring for seniors in their homes and in the hospital. I am a reliable, compassionate, patient, attentive, and warm person who loves to put a smile on the face of the person in my care. I have cared for clients with Alzheimer's, cancer, mental illness, and those who just need companionship or an extra helping hand. My skills include attending to clients' personal care and medication compliance, helping clients with exercise/range of motion activities, cooking, and light cleaning. While I take my job very seriously, I am also a great conversationalist, with an easy laugh and a terrific sense of humor. I have my own car and can drive clients to medical appointments, shopping, or wherever is needed. I am flexible, hardworking, open to new ideas, and happy to communicate with clients' family members. July 2015- Sept. 2015 Marie cared for our 97 year old dad in the hospital. She was totally attentive engaging my dad in conversations, helping him take his meds (when the CNA's at the hospital failed ). My dad fell while at the hospital (not with Marie ). She was amazing changing his bandages (better than the nurses, but equal to the wound specialists). My brother and I let Marie take a lunch break and we tired to walk our dad, but he started to fall, thank goodness Marie showed up as we couldn't reach a button for help. She quickly pulled out her strap, wrapped it around him, and alone stepped in and gently got him stable and into his bed !. We totally trusted her to care for our dad. Her skills were wonderful. She had this gentle but commanding way with our stubborn dad. Her amazing laugh and smile just warmed our dad . What I loved about her is you didn't have to tell her what to do, she quickly anticipated his needs and took the initiative to do whatever he needed.
