I have been taking care of kids for more than 10 years now.
I have taken care of children from different ages full time and babysitting at night. I describe myself as a caring, lovely and responsible person who will make sure that your children are loved, safe and learn through the many learning activities I have to plan for them. In addition, I am very creative with crafts and will provide many activities to further develop your kid's development. I enjoy to be in the outdoors and will create activities whether inside on a rainy day or outside exploring NYC. Caring for children is something I really love and enjoy the many differences and individuality on each one of them as well as how fast they grow. I have always thought that this job is not just fun, it is also full of joy. One of the things I find extremely important is to have good communication and relationship with the child as well as the parents as this is key to succeed as a nanny.

Mariel was our nanny for the last 2ish years. She watched our now 4 year old and 8 year old full time. Not only was she kind and made the kids feel loved, she was reliable and responsible. Your kids will always absorb the personality of those around them most often and with Mariel that means they will be more fun loving, kind and empathetic. Could not recommend her more!

I cannot recommend Mariel enough bough!! She provides incredible inspired childcare for our baby. We love having her around and our little one has the best time with her. Mariel is the best! She was our full time babysitter for our son before he went to preschool, and she cared for him as if he was her own.  She is responsible, communicative, and was conscious of making sure he had a variety of healthy goods and enriching activities. She also truly enjoyed spending time with him and was a joyful presence -- my son was always happy to see her each morning!  I highly recommend Mariel if you are looking for a nanny ot babysitter.

Mariel has been our nanny since January 2017, and we'll part ways in late June 2018 only because we cannot provide the full-time hours she needs when our son starts school. She's nurtured our now 3-year old son every day with her enthusiasm and creativity, made a wide circle of local friends, and taken him on fantastic adventures. She's not just punctual; she's early. And she's a pleasure to have around. She has also put him to bed for us on weeknights and weekends regularly, and has done the same for our friends with two kids with ease. She'll continue to babysit for us, but we'll miss her terribly on regular days. She is a treasure.  

Mariel has been taking care of my daughter since she was 12 weeks old and we have absolute trust in her. She is generous, understanding, and hard working. Simply a wonderful person to have around your kids!

I can't say enough good things about Mariel! 

She is incredibly sweet, responsible and genuinely loves kids. It shows. She was fantastic with my son, who was with her from 18 months to the time he started pre-school at 3 years.   I recommend Mariel very highly.

Mariel would text me photos of my son playing regularly, without being asked. And more important, she always responded to my calls or texts within minutes, even when it wasn't urgent. 

She took my son outside a lot and came up with all sorts of fun art projects and games to play inside. (She never relied on television!) My son even learned some Spanish words from her! (Mariel's English is fluent, too.)

She was vigilant about ensuring that he wasn't exposed to eggs (he had an allergy at the time) and would always text me quickly when she noticed he was sick.

Where do I begin, Mariel took care of my daughter, O., from the time she was 3 months old until 3 years old when she started pre-k. From the moment I met Mariel I could see she is a truly gifted caregiver who is passionate about what she does. Her ease and warmth with children of all ages is not something one can learn, it's in her DNA. My daughter learned a great deal from Mariel, stories, songs, letters, numbers and colors but more importantly, how to be around other children, how to treat other people with kindness and respect and how to be part of a loving community. I could never thank Mariel enough for all that she has done for my family and thankfully we live in the same neighborhood and she still babysits for us because my daughter misses her terribly. My husband and I still talk about how lucky we are that Mariel is in our daughter's life and recommend her enthusiastically to anyone seeking a high level of care and love for their child.

I've known Mariel for 5 years now. She s taken care of my two children full time for a long time and I only have good things to say about her. She s is a complete professional. She knows more about children than any caregiver that I've known (and I've known a few). But what is even more important to me, she s is very sweet and caring with the children, very communicative with both parents and children and always open to any ideas for improvement.

She is very smart, learns fast and is fully bilingual in English and in Spanish which was a plus for our family.
