About Mariela

I have been an Assistant Teacher for a Montessori school and another private school for 4 years. I have experience with children from 0 - 6 years of age. The age group I currently work with are from 2 to 3 1/2 years old. I babysit on the side on some weekday nights and weekends, for a family with 2 girls, a 3-month-old and a 3-year-old. I don't have children, but I do have a niece who is 1 1/2 whom I babysit occasionally, as well. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I believe quality childcare makes a difference in the lives of children and their families. I hope to be a good support for working parents. Working in partnership with parents ensures that the needs of the family are met and this promotes a sound foundation for children. There are so many benefits to children being cared for at home. Home is warm and secure; the ideal setting for children to learn and grow. I strive to provide a nurturing and encouraging environment, with age appropriate activities and opportunities to explore. Each child will be cared for according to their individual needs. I believe children who are loved and cared for will in turn learn to love and care for others.
