About Maria

I'd describe my personality as warm, bubbly, reliable, and caring. I like working with kids because they are so fun, honest, and sweet. I'm looking for a job that values what I have to offer and also lets me shine at what I do best and trusts me. I started working with kids when I started teaching them ESL when I was 17 and when I started babysitting at 12 and 15 and when I worked at a daycare at 19 and then again at 34. I am now 36 and it has been a wonderful long career of teaching and caring for children of all ages: 3 months old to teenagers. In my spare time, I like to watch movies , walk outside, read poetry, listen to podcasts, cook recipes, socialize, go to coffee shops, practice my languages. One thing you should know about me is I am very affectionate and can be silly but can also be firm and redirect as needed according to the house rules. My skills include teaching languages, playing and entertaining in general, and also helping small children with potty.
