I have been taking care of newborns, toddlers, and small children for more than 20 years in Virginia, D. C., and Maryland. I have worked with individual families for many years, the longest being 8 years with a family of five children. Most recently I have worked with a family with one child for more than four years, including during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have reference letters for each family I have worked with. I love taking care of babies and toddlers with a focus on mealtime routines, nap, playtime, stories, outdoor play (taking walks and going to playgrounds), and meeting up with other children for playdates. I can also work as a doula for newborns. I am happy to follow a no-screens policy if this is what parents prefer. I am able to do some cooking and light housekeeping in addition to child care. I am a naturalized U. S. citizen. Nonsmoker, fully vaccinated, dependable and punctual, have my own transportation, with a long track record of helping families!

Maria has been a wonderful addition to our family for the past 4+ years. She started caring for our son when he was 15 months old and has helped him through all of the transitions from baby to rising kindergartner. She managed playtime, naps, and outdoor time in addition to diapers and potty training, discipline, and finding other children for him to play with. She often brought her own foods cooked at home for our son to eat, in addition to doing cooking and light housekeeping. Maria has a gift for babies and toddlers. We will miss her very much but hope she finds a good family to work with going forward!
