About Maria

I'm a writer by trade who became a full-time caregiver to parents with Alzheimer's and dementia - publishing a book to help others deal with the spiritual side of memory loss. For my parents, I did everything from medication management to bathing/diaper changes, nutritious meal prep, hospice care to home preparation and more. I understand how difficult this process is, and the experience left me with great compassion for the elderly and their adult children. I've met folks here whom I've helped just by talking on the phone, even if I don't end up being hired. It's my way of paying it forward. Since my parents passed, I worked as a caregiver to a cancer patient who is currently in remission. I also worked for a family whose father had dementia. I was present with him in companionship, administered medicine and was his private chef preparing 25+ low-sodium delicious meals a week. I'm also a certified yoga instructor and bring peace and calm to your family.
