About Maria

I have worked with children from kinder to high school level from volunteering at a church to also working in schools. I have supervised teenagers in church camp retreats and Elementary children at field trips during the summer as well as having my own after school class. I worked for the YMCA for two years as a Group Leader, the Santa Ana Unified School District as a Student Support Paraprofessional-Special Education and After-School Instructional Support Provider for four for the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District at Wagner Elementary as a Special Education Aide II for 4 months. There I gathered data by taking anecdotal notes for children's cognitive, behavior and motor progress on a daily basis. Adapted to different behaviors according to specifications in IEP's. Assisted children with feeding and toileting. Setup and clean, work and snack areas. Used proper lifting techniques. Picked up students at the bus stop. Worked on 1 on 1 and also in small groups with children.
