About Mariah

I started tutoring with Project Upward Bound at Oakland University in Fall 2017. This program provides after-school tutoring both in person and online for nearby high schools. I contacted parents consistently to update them on their students' progress and was responsible for logging this information as well. More recently, I have completed observations, lead lessons, and substituted in middle school and junior high settings. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology with Secondary Teaching and Integrated Science. I will be a full-time student teacher starting January 2025. My skills include adapting to diverse learners and the ability to implement cross-curricular teaching methods. I also encourage a growth mindset when communicating with my students.
