About Maria

Born and raised in Portland, Maine. Relocated to New Bedford, Massachusetts. A little about me: When my youngest sister was born my father nicknamed me Mother Hen due to my nurturing nature and patience with her. Coming from a large family I have always gravitated toward childcare positions - During my high school career, I worked and volunteered part-time at my local Boy's & Girl's Club. While there I would often read to, tutor and work with children on anything they might need. I find nothing more rewarding than working with youth, this is why I hope to someday become a pediatric nurse or open a daycare of my own, but for now caring for children from families who need the help is just as rewarding. I have personal experience with special needs children (autism; ADHD) and children with food sensitivities (PKU). I am hoping to find a long-term, full or part-time nannying position.
