About Maria

Hello, hello. I'm Maria and I live in Brooklyn (10+ years), and I enjoy spending time with people as a sweet little companion throughout their day-to-day. Imagine company and conversation, walks in the neighborhood, groceries and errands, help keeping the calendar and the pill organizer straight, and tagging along to appointments (by foot, subway, or car service). I know my way around conversations with doctors (I spent years as a patient experience consultant) and having a second set of ears in the exam room really helps with what a family needs to know afterward. What I bring is patience and an uncommon amount of comfort with hard conversations. I'm a certified end-of-life doula and coach, and I run a small practice here in Brooklyn supporting families through aging, illness, and loss. I'm steady with a difficult diagnosis and chronic conditions, and easy to talk to for someone who wants to discuss the process of aging and dying.
