I am a former RN and have been in the medical field for almost 35 yrs. I came to the USA with the plan to continue my nursing and started as a private contractor, doing home care. I have been in part-time companion care since 2012 while working full time as a Nursing assistant/file clerk/Cardiac monitor Tech, at NYU Winthrop University hospital. Understanding the various medical and psychological changes in an individual as they age is a great asset and I do. I resigned from bedside nursing in the Hospital, after dedicating myself to it since 1986. I work full time in geriatric home care from 2016, until my Alzheimer's client passed away in O4/2024. My profession of choice is very challenging and demands dedication, humility, patience and willingness to learn what it takes to get the job done. I am presently employed at Hartford Hospital as a Cardiac monitor Technician ( Telemetry Technician). My schedule is not fixed but can try to make myself available.

When I met Mala seven years ago, my mother first needed senior care help, and she has provided exceptional care ever since. My mother has Alzheimer's and needed more and more help as the disease progressed. Mala could always help and provide suggestions for the best care for her. Mala could understand my mom's communication level and adapt herself to that level. She would make recommendations on how to better protect the home environment to avoid accidents. Mala constantly helped make food and nutrition decisions as the disease progressed. All of this was done proactively; she was on top of it. Mala provided my mother with an exceptional level of care and competency. She could handle any situation and connect with my challenging mother. Mala was always reliable and easy to communicate with. My mother would not have had anything near the quality of life without Mala's care. Mala would go out with her on walks or to eat, which would put her at ease. As the disease progressed, Mala was able to adapt to the situation. They would play some games together as best as possible, and when it was difficult to ensure my mother was eating enough, Mala would make soups for her and spend the time to ensure she ate enough. Bathing, changing her diapers as time went on, she was able to do everything. In short, Mala is an angel, and you would be fortunate to have her provide care for your loved one. I'm happy to provide further information anytime.
