About Makiah

Hey! I have several years of experience working with children in both childcare and teaching settings. I've been babysitting since my sophomore year of high school and still babysit occasionally. For the past two years, I've worked as a swim instructor, where I've gained experience teaching children of different ages, keeping them safe, and helping them build confidence. I am also BLS/CPR certified and have training in child development. I've volunteered in my church nursery for two years and have spent four years volunteering with a bus ministry that works with children throughout the community. I recently completed my prerequisites for the nursing program at Butte College and am currently taking classes while waiting to begin nursing school. I'm patient, dependable, caring, and safety-focused, and I genuinely enjoy creating a fun and comfortable environment where children feel supported and cared for.
