About Makena

I'd describe my personality as caring, kind, responsible, and dedicated! I absolutely love working with children! I have such a passion for watching them grow and learn in a safe and fun environment! I have 2 years of experience working as a nanny, babysitter and also a preschool and daycare teacher. I have a lot of experience and knowledge working with ages newborn-12 years old! I am CPR and First Aid Certified as well. I also have completed several child development and early childhood education classes during my time at Western. I've also received several certificates of online early childhood education classes and training courses from the CCEI (Child Care Education Institute). I'm a social work student with a human development minor, going into my final year at WMU! I am currently looking for part-time hours, as I am a college student and also have another part-time job! :) I can do occasional overnights, and can also sometimes be flexible from my posted availability!
