About Mahlon

Hello! My name is Mahlon and I am looking for opportunities in childcare during the after work hours and weekends with ages ranging from 6 months to 12 years. I am currently an Assistant Montessori Teacher at a Montessori school in Washington D. C but have been working with children for 10 years. I work primarily with infants (ages 6 months to 24 months) though I have extensive experience with older children through years of babysitting, nannying and as a summer camp counselor. I earned my Bachelors in International Relations from American University in the Spring of 2023 and have been living and working in the city since then. My style as an early childhood educator stems from the Montessori philosophy of being child-led. I seek to give children the tools, direction and care they need to become their most true and capable selves and gain so much joy from it. I hope to connect with more families across the DMV so please reach out if you think I would be a good fit with your family.
