Magda had been my mother’s caretaker for the last two years. If not for her, my mother would not have made it to 100. Magda was a dedicated caregiver, she gave my mom encouragement and respect, and was hardworking and trustworthy. She gave her regular showers and fixed her hair, took good care of her skin and gave her the daily medications. She took her for walks in her wheelchair or car rides to the store or to get her hair cut. In addition, she is an excellent cook and was able to make my mom the ethnic foods that she loved. My husband and I traveled a few times a month and we totally trusted Magda to care for my mom, while we were gone. She was able to care for my mom and take care of our home, with no difficulty. My mom fell and broke her hip, she had surgery and went to rehab with my mom for one month before she came back home. Magda stayed with her in rehab. She and my mom had a great relationship and my mom loved her dearly. Magda was a blessing to our family. caregiving was not just a job for her but a mission.
