About Madeline

As the oldest of three with a single mother, I have been a caretaker for my whole life. That experience has created a passion for me to work with a variety of kids. From coaching girls with disabilities in cheerleading, to being a camp counselor, to babysitting, I have worked with a lot of different kids. Even now, I work at Lighthouse School in Holyoke as a peer mentor/tutor because I am passionate about connecting with different types of kids. Each child presents unique perspectives on the world they live in, and the world we live in. I think people ignore children often, when they are the ones who are often the most emphatic and understating of what is happening. As a caregiver, I tune into the unique needs of each child so they feel seen, heard, and taken care of. I strive to connect with kids on their level. Working with children is a balancing act, according to each child's personality, and the parent's style. I can't wait to get to know your families!
