About Madeline

I'd describe my personality as warm, patient, and responsible. I like caring for seniors because there is so much wisdom in this age group. I have worked with every age, and I find that my life experiences go quite well with this demographic. I'm looking for a job that enriches both me and the client (and their family). I started caring for seniors when I studied gerontology at PCC in Portland back in 2006. I spent a while volunteering before helping in the care with my own mom who passed from Alzheimer's in 2018. In my spare time, I like to Create! I am an avid folk artist. My skills include engaged listening, taking direction respectfully, and being able to engage in a positive and creative fashion - I currently work with an 86-year-old woman who is coming to terms with what and who she's leaving behind in the near future. We will go through photos, talk about her children, and mostly reflect on her big and beautiful life.
