Maddie worked for my family for ~7 days caring for my 3 month old. In that time my daughter was having a hard time transitioning from being mainly nursed to me pumping and being fed by bottle. Maddie had a really hard time navigating this. So much so that she quit giving me 2 biz days to find other care. When she texted me to tell me she quit she went as far as to suggest there’s something wrong with my baby. I’m not saying my baby is perfect and never cried but I do think her struggle of transitioning from nursing to bottle is a common one and does not suggest any health issues. When I interviewed Maddie she spoke of her extensive experience with babies but when she started work she quickly told me she had never cared for a nursing baby. Ultimately, I feel I treated Maddie like she was a professional but she did not extend that courtesy back to me. I think Maddie could be a good fit for some families but I would not recommend her to care for nursing babies or babies that may be fussy and need someone who can work through that with them.
