About Maddie

Hi there! My name is Maddie, and I've lived in Chicago for 3 years. I started babysitting when I was 11 years old. I come from a large family and have spent time with kids my whole life. I have experience in babysitting, being a mother's helper, and working with kids in settings such as VBS and Sunday School at church, as well as experience in my role as a library assistant at a public library. I have a Bachelor's degree in English literature and a certificate in Deaf studies. I also have a MLIS with a certificate in Youth Services. My educational experience has allowed me to develop deep understandings of child and early literacy development. In my professional experiences at public libraries, I have presented many storytime programs for children ages 0-5 and curated reading lists for children ages 0-12. My work experience has allowed me to explore the importance of play in learning, which is something I enjoy incorporating in my babysitting jobs as well!
