About Mackenzie

Hi! My name is Mackenzie. I recently moved to New Haven after graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Neuroscience and Physiology and minors in Medical Spanish and Sociology. I currently work full time in Alzheimer's disease research at Yale, and I am looking for caregiving or babysitting work in the evenings and on weekends. I have about six years of hands-on caregiving and healthcare experience. I began working as a CNA at 16 and have since worked in memory care, skilled nursing, neurological rehabilitation, hospice and palliative care, and inpatient psychiatric care. Through those roles, I have cared for people with a wide range of physical, cognitive, developmental, and behavioral needs. I am CPR, First Aid, and BLS certified, and I have extensive training in dementia care, patient safety, de-escalation, and emergency response. The most enjoyable part of caregiving to me is learning from my patients and connecting on a deep level.
