I am a seasoned elementary teacher and I have known Lynn for 9 years. She is a good friend and an honest person. She has watched my own son when he was between 8-10 years old. I found her to be fair and responsible with my child. She was concerned for his safety and was firm and fair when needed, as he suffers from severe ADHD and is very active. I am writing to enthusiastically recommend Lynn Thomas.  I have known Lynn since 2011, since she first began taking care of my son.  I emphasize the words "taking care", as opposed to "watching" or "babysitting."  The care that she has provided for him has been outstanding.
 
He was our first child, so my wife and I had no idea what to expect when it came to child care.   When she twelve weeks of maternity expired, we knew that we would be fortunate enough to have family members to watch he three days a week.  It was the other two days that we were nervous about.  Should we put him in daycare?  Should my wife work from home those days?  The answers to those questions were answered when she mother recommended Lynn, a friend of hers for over fifty years.    Within a few minutes of speaking with her, she eased all of our fears about childcare.  It was comforting to know that Lynn was someone that we could trust.
 
The first morning that Lynn was scheduled to come was a Monday in January.  It was her first day back and work and she was the first to leave the house.  As I was trying to mentally prepare myself for leaving Kevin for the day without his mom or dad, Lynn came through the door.  After studying Lynn's face for a few seconds, he gave her a big smile.  That same big smile has greeted Lynn every Monday and Thursday in the six months that followed.
 
As a caretaker, Lynn has always been punctual and always ready to snatch him out of my hands the moment she walks in.  At our request, via texts, she has always kept Audrey and me in the loop about what was going on during the day.  Even on days when she is not scheduled to watch Kevin, she has been flexible enough to help us on a moment s notice.
 
Lynn is a natural when it comes to taking care of a child.  Whereas some caretakers simply plop a child in a chair and set them in front of a TV, it was always reassuring to come home and see a stroller parked in the driveway, a chair sitting under a shaded tree on a nice day, or dozens of toys all over the family room floor.  To me, that is "taking care" of a child.
 
Based on my experiences with Lynn and her interactions with him, I absolutely recommend her for providing the care for any child.  She even helped me get through the new parent questions and concerns.

Lynn was an amazing nanny for my two year son and infant daughter. She came highly recommended and quickly became a part of our family. She was always prompt and extremely reliable. My son loves her and enjoyed all of the activities that Lynn provided for him.  Lynn took him many different places and made sure he socialized with other children.  She prepared healthy meals for my son and did housework.  It was truly wonderful to come home knowing my son would be napping and that the house would be clean.  We were very lucky to have found Lynn!

I have known Lynn for 33 yrs.  She was an aide in the special education classroom when I was teaching 5th grade and she worked with a number of my students.  She was caring, conscientious, and a hard worker.  We remained friends so I heard first hand how much she enjoyed being a nanny.
