It is a privilege to share this letter of recommendation for Margaret, who provided exceptional, heartfelt care for our dear mother and grandmother during the final months of her life. After our grandmother suffered a stroke in early 2025, we were determined to bring her back home from the rehabilitation center as soon as possible. Thanks to the dedication of compassionate caregivers like Margaret, we were able to do so. Later, when Grandma entered hospice, Margaret adjusted seamlessly to the new stage of care, offering gentle comfort and unwavering presence until the moment of her peaceful passing. From the moment she joined our family’s care team, Margaret demonstrated a remarkable combination of skill, kindness, and devotion. She treated our grandmother with the same tenderness and respect she would offer to her own family—singing and praying with her, sharing quiet moments of companionship, and encouraging her to enjoy time in the sunshine. Her focus was always on lifting Grandma’s spirits as well as tending to her physical needs. She was also tuned in to the importance of Grandma’s social life and never discouraged the visits of family members, friends, and neighbors. Margaret managed every aspect of care with diligence and compassion—ensuring a safe home environment, including mobility, handling personal care, and preparing meals, hydration, and medications. She approached each task with patience and attentiveness, never rushing, and always prioritizing Grandma’s dignity and comfort. Margaret was very open to working closely with the entire medical team of doctors and nurses, and was not afraid to ask questions, or for help if she was looking for a new technique. What stood out most was Margaret’s ability to connect on a personal level. Whether watching a favorite program together, listening to music, or engaging in warm conversation, she created moments of joy that made a real difference in our grandmother’s days. Her presence brought calm and reassurance, not only to Grandma, but to our entire family. She also has a wonderful sense of humor that would make Grandma smile. Margaret’s commitment went far beyond the ordinary. She shared 24/7 shifts with her care partner, worked through holidays, and stayed by Grandma’s side during hospital visits, ensuring she was never alone. She was a steadfast advocate if she felt Grandma was not getting adequate care during her admissions, and right there to assist the hospital staff when needed. Her loyalty, reliability, and heartfelt compassion are qualities that cannot be taught—they are simply part of who she is. Our family will always be deeply grateful for the love and comfort Margaret gave our grandmother. I can say without hesitation that any family would be fortunate to have her as a caregiver.
