About Lucy

I'm Lucy! I'm from MD and have a big family where I grew up babysitting my younger cousins (over 20 grandkids on one side!). I am finishing up a seasonal job at Acorn Outdoor Learning where I lead emergent nature exploration around DC with kids ages 3-9. When I haven't been working directly with kids, I've volunteered with Girls in Gear (bike skills) and Volo Kids (sports). I like working with kids because I remember how it felt to have adults in my life that made me feel valued, special, and like one of the big kids. Growing up, my daycare grandma would take us on incredible adventures - camping, hiking, biking, and to almost every different playground we could find. I channel her now and enjoy how rewarding it is to see the kids grow and encourage them to become more confident and independent. I worked for two summers as a housekeeper and am open to helping with that as well. When I am not at work, I love spending time outdoors, doing crafts, and hanging out with my dog!
