About Louis

Hello! My name is Louis. I am an educator, musician and lifelong Philadelphian based in Chestnut Hill! I have years of experience joyfully working with young people ages 3-18, helping to create safe learning spaces for students to develop as readers, writers, critical thinkers and compassionate people. I have a B. S. in Sociology from Northeastern University, and am someone who thinks critically about social structures, and particularly how our young people experience the world, come into their own and develop their identities. I am eager to work with learners of different abilities, learning styles and backgrounds, and to apply a joyful and flexible approach to their learning goals. I approach teaching and tutoring as a "warm demander"; someone who both holds high expectations for students, and provides them with high levels of support to match.
