About Louise

Hello! My name is Louise. I am a first grade teacher here in the DMV area with almost a decade's worth of experience. I am a reading specialist with a love for children. My goal is to help children succeed in reading and writing; being able to tackle any text they encounter. I hold a Masters in Teaching Reading and a Bachelors in Elementary Education. I have taught Kindergarten through 4th grade in my career as well as provided individualized reading education/private tutoring to children in need of more support. I believe a child's development and ability to learn is enhanced when placed in a climate of love, respect, support, and encouragement. I create such environments. I have lived on three different continents: Africa, Europe, and North America. My travels have given me the unique experience to work with diverse groups of people. I welcome and build positive relationship with all children and families. I believe this is the best way to teach to the whole child.
