About Lorie

I've worked in the area of childcare most of my life! As early as 12 years old, I was babysitting for neighborhood families. Providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore and learn more about themselves and the world around them is a passion of mine. It's what led me into pursuing a degree in elementary education. And it's why I decided to look into nanny opportunities near me. I was a nanny for almost four years in New Jersey after I graduated from college. When my own two kids were young, I ran an in-home daycare. Whether caring for my own children or other children in my care, I've always planned the days with meaningful activities such as art projects, trips to parks and museums, play dates, visits to libraries, etc. As a former classroom teacher, I have a knowledge of child development, language acquisition, and emotion regulation skills. I am able to provide opportunities for children to learn new things in authentic and organic ways.
