About Lorena

Hiring Lorena is one of the best decisions I have made as a parent. We lucked into her, as friends of ours were looking for a child for their nanny share part-time, at the same time my maternity leave was ending. At six months old, my daughter was exclusively breastfed and gagged at the sight of a bottle. As first time parents, we were worried about her eating enough without breastfeeding throughout the day. Lorena reassured us and worked patiently to teach our girl to accept a bottle while also introducing solids. We brought Lorena on full-time two years ago, when our friends’ child started school. Having Lorena in our home during the week has helped immeasurably. Not only does she provide exceptional care, she does my daughter’s laundry, makes her meals, gets her dressed and ensures her hair is styled and keeps common areas tidy. Lorena has an incredible network of nanny friends in the area and, as a result, my daughter has had regular interactions with other children and learned important skills like sharing and playing well with others - crucial lessons for an only child! Lorena fills her days with fun adventures like the library story time, the zoo and various parks, while also providing structure and routine. Despite my husband and I not being competent Spanish speakers, our three year old is fluent in Spanish and easily transitions between languages depending on who she is speaking with. Most importantly, she has helped our daughter into a kind, confident and happy girl, ready to enter preschool, and for that we are forever grateful.
