You might look at my profile and think I'm not qualified because most of my childcare experience hasn't come from working as a professional nanny. But I'm the older sister, the "we don't have to worry about you" child in my family. I've been trusted with my younger siblings and cousins for years, especially while helping my parents, and that experience has taught me a lot. Caring for children has been something I've been surrounded by throughout my life. My stepmother was a teacher, and my godmother worked as a caregiver and nanny for children. I've learned a lot from both of them over the years simply by watching, helping, and being around the way they cared for and connected with children. I understand that every child is different, and I'm willing to meet them where they are instead of expecting every child to respond the same way.
