About Lisa

I am a retired National Board Certified teacher, who worked for 12 years as both an English language learner/ESL educator, as well as a reading instructor in Broward County public schools for middle school, high school and adult education. I was Teacher of the Year at my middle school, where I brought struggling readers up two levels within one year timeframe. Upon retiring, I have been tutoring elementary, middle school and high school, children from the age of six up - in reading across the content areas. I stress critical, thinking skills, test-taking skills, vocabulary building in general, and improve writing skills for all my students. I myself have a masters degree and have studied Mandarin Chinese and French (on a college level) and possess knowledge of Spanish. I'm good at making learning fun and creating curiosity and interest to both students forward .
